Sydney part one: crimbo

Here we are in the unofficial capital of Australia and we are in shock.
ONE: it's summer but the weather is like an autumn day in blighty, the New Years Eve bash could be (an expensive) washout.
TWO: 2 out of every 3 faces are Asian, not a problem but just having spent 6 weeks in Asia we were hoping for a change.
THREE: it's bloody expensive!! BLOODY EXPENSIVE! A combination of the weak £pound and coming from a cheap Asia has not helped but crikey cobber everytime I buy a drink in a boozer I feel like I've been mugged.

Christmas is no 'biggie' here, probably because it is so multicultural and multifaith, we though after a boatride around the bay hit Darling harbour and eat at the rather splendid 'I'm Angus' for crimbo lunch. Oysters, prawn, squid & salmon kick start the meal with lamb rack and well hung steak for mains. Bubbly, a bottle of red and a cheese plate complete the festive feast and we stagger/waddle back to the hotel to slob.
