Bye Bye Beijing
11:40
After the mad scramble to get our cabin on the overnight train to Xi'an I've time to reflect on Beijing.
It's an interesting city, certainly worth a 4 or 5 day stint and the 'great wall' is a must.
For the Chinese life is about food so go explore Dim Sum to Duck and beyond.
The Forbidden City and Tianeman Square will fill a day but the real highlight is a day trip to the Great Wall.
Pick your location carefully and start out early to avoid the crowds (Mu Tian Yu at 9am).
Drop in at a Tea House for a tasting (interesting despite all expectations) and spend an afternoon or evening at Olympic park, make sure you hang around till dusk when they light everything up.
Would I return, probably not would I recommend it, certainly!
